We are set amidst the 11 acres of thick Sal forest and situated close to Mukki gate of Kanha National Park. Built with minimum interference to the natural environment of its setting and managed on eco-friendly principles, it is our earnest endeavor to provide you with a warm and comfortable stay.
Kanha National Park is a vast expanse of grassland and forest in the central India with over 1000 species of flaura and fauna. Spot the tiger, jackals, wild boar, leopard and more.
The charming cottages in Kanha Jungle Lodge are elegant with architecture that blends the village architecture with a contemporary feel. Lavishly surrounded with sal trees, it’s the forest’s unmistakable fragrance that makes the stay more divine, more meditative in every sense of the word.
Verified Wonderful Experience. Having recently been guests at Kanha Jungle Lodge ,we highly recommend the experience . Tarun, Dimple & not forgetting their son Jai were excellent hosts & very knowledgeable about the wildlife. The staff were excellent & tuned in to the guests needs. Food , some prepared by Dimple with the help of the cooks was delicious & plentiful. Accommodation was excellent and well attended. Jungle Lodge is close to Kanha park and the few days we had there were well rewarded with sightings of tigers and cubs along with many other superb animals and birds. It was worth getting up at 5.30 am each morning. In short - highly recommended! Wonderful holiday. Cannot wait to go back! whisper20142023-06-02Verified Friendliest place to stay in India. Kanha Jungle Lodge is the perfect blend of friendly, comfort and beauty. I should also mention the food is so delicious that it will spoil you for any other safari destination. Managers Tarun, Dimple and the whole staff make this high level of comfort look so easy all while helping with your tiger safari needs. Excellent guides are provided for those who wish to do a tiger safari. If you are looking to do a safari in Kanha National Park this is the best place to stay, you won't want to go home. Eric R2023-06-01Verified The Very Best We absolutely adored our time at this lodge and with our incredibly gracious and smart hosts. Tarun and Dimple and their attentive staff made us feel simultaneously at home and relaxed, and also pampered and like we were on holiday. The very best combination! The rooms are beautifully appointed with every detail looked after, the food is impeccable. The best though of course, is the people. I suggest making an effort to slow down and ask a few questions and learn what you can from the family that runs this magical place. So much more than a safari jungle lodge awaits the inquisitive. I been all over the world in this sort of setting and have rarely, if ever actually, encountered such terrific naturalist guides who also operate at the highest levels when it comes to hospitality. One particularly memorable evening Dimple introduced my son and I by moonlight to an incredible universe of insects, flying squirrels and frogs hiding in plain sight on the lodge grounds. We really did have a delightful time scouting out translucent snowflake caterpillars munching on leaves, learning about spiders that masquerade as ants, tiny frogs living in tree holes, zebra stripe cockroaches, and how damselflies rest by hanging like sticks on branches. On another afternoon Dimple led us to the river. My son had the time of his life playing in the water, spotting spiders, birds and other insects and was treated afterward to masala chai, his new favorite beverage, made right there on the shore. Of course everyone is on the lookout for tigers, but we felt especially lucky to see very many gorgeous birds, and even a leopard. The most incredible thing I have ever witnessed, the way Tarun was able to understand where it would appear... I will never forget the light breeze, the sun dappled path, the silence, and then! the leopard on silent feet comes gliding out of the trees. Magic! Not to be missed! Christina B2023-05-29Verified Nature’s Paradise Overall extremely satisfying and enjoyable stay. Would definitely plan to visit again and again. Team KJL is excellent. Kudos. Keep rocking! It’s a home away from home. Indeed a nature’s paradise. Tasty food served by the chefs.Highly recommended. Traveler016178305492023-05-29Verified Best family holiday ever at enchanted Khanha Lodge We stayed in Khana Lodge in January 2023, with friends, in laws, extended family and two small children. The experience was heavenly. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with smiles, expert hospitality and dappled sunlight filtering through the myriad of trees that ensconce the property. It felt like living inside an enchanted forest, which you learn about through carefully placed namecards educating guests about the plant and tree species. Rooms were generous, neat and impeccably kept. The food was incredible: everyday something completely different inspired by fresh seasonal ingredients - decadent and delicious but also very wholesome and nourishing food. Common areas were so beautifully designed to feel like you are in the forest but held in high comfort. Walks with Dimple through the forest were a highlight for all of us - she taught us so much about moths, insects, butterflies and above all taught us to observe the tiny living stories that surrounded us. Lemongrass chai and snacks at the riverside over a gentle sunset was very special. Our children had a very special time too - from rangoli lessons, moth theatres and misty morning walks - Khanha Lodge is a place we will not forget and definitely visit again. Highly recommend for anyone planning to travel in beautiful Madya Pradesh. Thank you Dimple and Tarun for your superb hospitality. Sophia Olivia Sanan2023-05-28Verified Magical experience, highly recommended I have traveled all over the world, and this small lodge is easily in my top 3. Set among Saal trees, KJL is a family legacy from the founder of the Tiger Project from the 1950's that saved the Bengals from extinction. The Kanha guides are superb: not only tigers close up, even a rare sloth bear, and the park is spectacular for birders. The gourmet Indian food is the best you will find anywhere, thanks to Dimple and her friendly, gracious staff. No wonder people return many times--we shall also! IneedaDr2023-05-28Verified Home away from Home The moment you check-in at Kanha Jungle Lodge, you will feel the warmth of this place. Always smiling and welcoming staff will be on their toes to make sure that you are comfortable.Moving on to the food, I don't remember of eating anything repeatedly and that also the most tasty food. Dimple the Manager/owner herself is a fantastic Cook and make sure that everything is upto the mark. When In Kanha, you have to go out for the Wildlife Safaris and also the Nature Walks. Tarun Bhati (Manager/Owner) is running this property since almost 25 years and knows the park as the back of his hand and therefore he alongwith the other Naturalists makes your experience outstanding. By The Way - We saw in total 12 different Tigers on our safaris.Don't forget to go on a Nature Walk with Jai, if he is around. He will introduce you to the tiniest of the natural world and other Flora and Fauna.Overall an outstandingly fantastic experience at Kanha Jungle Lodge.Hope to visit this place again soon. Himos2023-05-26Verified Magical Little Heaven Was a guest at the Kanha Jungle Lodge with a small group of approx 24 pax on a workshop cum study trip. All in all a much cherished experience. Congratulations to the Management - Dimple and Tarun Bhati for being the perfect hosts and taking care of each and every minute detail to perfection. Other support staff - Raghu, Vijay, Dilesh, Manoj and the others who were very proactive and ensured that our stay was truly special and memorable. Kanha was a joy to explore, complete with a grassland area where rare southern swamp deer thrive, having been brought back from the brink of extinction. With a core area covering 580 square miles, it is the second largest reserve (after Satpura) in Madhya Pradesh: I took in part of the west of the park from Kipling Camp and a southern stretch from my last port of call, Kanha Jungle Lodge.
Sankhala is certain I’ll see a tiger. He tells me this as we bump along the dirt roads of Bandhavgarh National Park, India’s tiger country – 1,540km2 of swaying grassland and tropical forest where the mighty Bengal tiger roams freely.
From the moment I enter Bandhavgarh National Park, it’s clear the wildlife is never far away.
